On Sunday, Pope Leo XIV will be introduced in his new office on a solemn stock exchange in Rome. Guests from all over the world are expected, including Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP) from Austria and the Archbishop Franz Lackner in Salzburg.
The Graz -Bishop Wilhelm Krautwaschl will also be represented in Rome. A total of 200 delegations from all over the world participate in the trade fair on Sunday, including the American Vice President James Vance, the American State Secretary Marco Rubio and the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Senskyj.
The new Pope Leo XIV is expected to receive both Senskyj and Vance after the stock exchange from bilateral meetings. The conversations would be about international herds of crisis, such as the war in Ukraine. After direct negotiations between the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin and Senskyj had not been created in Turkey this week, the Vatican is a possible place for discussions.
Church bells sound in this country
In Austria at the start of the official inauguration on Sunday at 10 am the church bells. During a ceremony in the Petrusgrab under the basilica of St. Peter, Leo XIV receives the papal insignia, including a white woolen stola embroidered with red crosses.
