The “Krone” has the list of companies that sponsor the association.
National Council chairman Wolfgang Sobotka (ÖVP) is again facing sharp criticism these days – the opposition and the Green coalition partner are again demanding that he relinquish his chairmanship of the ÖVP subcommittee. This time, the reason for this is investigations into abuse of office. But Sobotka doesn’t think to give in.
No investigations, but a slew of complaints that have since been dropped, Sobotka took the Alois Mock Institute to the Ibiza U Committee, of which he chairs. The opposition suspects that money has flowed to the ÖVP through the association. As reported, the tax office of Lilienfeld St. Pölten, at the request of the U-Committee, has collected where the funds of the association, whose annual budget is 250,000 euros, come from – but the committee has never seen the list, it by the ÖVP led Treasury Department once held it back.
The list is available for “Krone”.
The list has now ended up in the ÖVP U-Committee and is also available for the “Krone”. Accordingly, between December 2017 and December 2019, the association has received payments from several companies in which the Land of Lower Austria has an interest or which are influenced by the ÖVP Lower Austria. During the same period, 56,496.30 euros flowed from Hypo NÖ, 54,976.19 euros from the energy supplier EVN, 38,900 euros from Vienna airport and 2,500 euros was paid by the NÖ Landeskliniken Holding.
Usually these are billed fees for events and payments for advertisements in the “Report” publication. On closer inspection, anomalies are discovered: the sponsors were sometimes charged different amounts for the same service. In addition, several services were charged with a single A/R invoice, some of which were significantly later than the time the service was provided.
