The United States rejects the reaction of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas to the American proposal for a temporary cease -the fire in the Gaza Strip as “completely unacceptable”. The Islamic group had previously asked for changes to the plan and the release of ten living hostages. A short time later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave: “Israel will continue his military actions in the Gaza Strip and beat Hamas.”
The Palestinians had approved a few points, but at the same time also asked for countless changes -including the warranty of a permanent stopping -the fires and a “full trigger” of Israel from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government, on the other hand, demands that Hamas moves the Gaza Strip and the disarmament of the Palestinian area – unacceptable demands for Hamas.
“This is completely unacceptable and simply brings us back,” said the American special envoy for the Midden -East, Steve Witkoff. His plan stipulates that ten hostages and the remains of 18 other victims of Hamas will be transferred to Israel during a cease-fire of 60 days. Israel assumes that 20 to 23 living hostages and at least 35 corpses of kidnapped people are currently in Hamas’ violence.
Israel: “Hamas responsible for the continuation of the war”
The Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said on Saturday that Hamas maintained his resistance to the cessation -fire plan from Witkoff. “Israel will continue his actions in the Gaza Strip to free the hostages and beat Hamas,” said Netanyahu. The Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar added that Hamas was responsible for continuing the war in the Gaza Strip because it refuses to release the hostages and send her weapons.
US President Donald Trump had shown on Friday with confidence that there could soon be a ceasefire in the Gaza war. At the start of the week, Israeli media had reported that Netanyahu had informed the families of the hostages who were stipulated in the Gaza Strip that Israel had accepted the agreement submitted by Witkoff.
In the meantime, a large number of hungry people in the Gaza Strip 77 trucks with relief supplies from the UN World Food Program (WFP) have stopped on their way to distribution centers on their way to distribution centers. This was announced by the organization based in Rome on the X platform. After an almost 80-day blockade of the sealed coastal strip by Israel, the residents would “no longer just look at food,” said the explanation.
UN organization warns of famine
In order to restore trust in auxiliary translations and their correct distribution, the Gaza Strip must now be “flooded with food”, according to the WFP. The organization can do this. “We have enough food (in stock) to deliver all 2.2 million inhabitants (of the Gaza Strip) for two months,” the article continued on X. To do this, however, would require safe traffic routes in the Gaza Strip, faster approval process on the Israeli side and ultimately a strike in the Gaza War, that almost 20 months.
The United Nations had previously warned of famine in the Gaza Strip. “Gaza is the most hungry area in the world,” said Jens Laerke’s spokesperson for the Unhilfebüro in Geneva. It is the only clearly defined area of the earth in which all residents are threatened by a famine without exception.
