Given the dramatic events in Russia, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a partial travel warning for Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs especially warns against travel to the Russian administrative districts of Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Rostov and Krasnodar that border Ukraine.
In particular, the city of Rostov-on-Don and its surroundings should be avoided. Also in Moscow and other cities in Russia “more attention should be paid”.
“Follow current media reports closely”
“Austrians in Russia are advised to closely monitor current media reports and to contact the Austrian Embassy in Moscow at any time for recommendations. The embassy provides support in case of emergency,” said a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday. Austrians in need can also always contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ guard service at +43-1-90115-4411.
“Dynamic developments”
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and is working closely with the team at the Austrian Embassy in Moscow and with European and international partners,” the ministry said. Further steps are reserved if deemed necessary in the light of dynamic developments.
