Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger invited again on Monday for the annual “Austrian world top”. During his opening speech in the Vienna Hofburg (see video above), the “Terminator” did not miss a swipe on the often changing Chancellors in Austria …
The “Styrian Oak” caught the attention of a special characteristic of domestic policy. “Every year you come here and see a new Chancellor. I got to know them all,” the actor emphasized.
Monika Langthaler, the director and organizer of the “Austrian World Summit”, told him before the event that there was already a new Chancellor in Austria – and that he was again at the ÖVP. This is how it continues in Austria.
Then the 77-year-old joked in the direction of the sitting Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP): “But they are without a doubt.”
Arnie praises Stocker’s cigar flavor
Otherwise, Stocker only heard prize -pricing words from Schwarzenegger. Especially because of the cigar flavor of the Chancellor. “It was very nice to have met her in your office on Monday, where you smoked a little stog. You really have a good cigar flavor, incredible.” Note: Stogie is defined with “poorly processed cigar” or “long, thin, cheap cigar”.
But Stocker’s speech on the Climate Conference and the common small conversation the day before in the federal chancellery also impressed Schwarzenegger. “I also immediately acknowledged that they are not only a party henge. They not only told me what politicians usually say. They also spoke how someone who just wants to be in public service and I like that because we need it,” Arnie emphasized in the direction of the Chancellor.
It doesn’t matter if it was a republican or democratic idea, nobody takes care of it. “What we take care of is in the service of the people and you have also talked about it, Mr Stocker.”
Stocker for climate protection and economy
In his speech, Stocker called in advance to place the connection over the separation. “Only together we can work on a better future, ecological, economic and socially tolerated.” It is important to have a positive place in the climate atmosphere and to concentrate on solutions.
Politicians have the task of determining the right course: climate protection measures should go hand in hand with economic development. It’s not about giving up, but about innovation. Again, the federal Chancellor known to climate neutrality by 2040.
