This unity image is in contrast with the strong confrontation between the government of Pedro Sánchez and the popular party. Debates on regional financing and the use of CO -official languages mark a day with few expectations of agreement.
The political tension and the hard intersections of accusations between the government of Spain and the popular party overshadow the start of the Presidents Conference, which is about to start in Barcelona.
Only 48 hours after the demonstration convened by the PP against Pedro Sánchez, the autonomous barons of the party arrive with a maximum program that includes the withdrawal of the Housing Act, the extension of the nuclear and the cancellation of the unique agreements with Catalonia.
The government, Albert Dalmau, has asked the government’s minister, not to “crack everything”, but neither the calls for dialogue nor the earlier gestures allow agreements in this XXVIII Regional Summit.
The Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales and the president of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, have already reported that they will intervene during the conference in Euskera and Catalan respectively. The decision to use Co -Official languages during the meeting can leave the President of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who already warned that she will leave the session if Spanish is not used.
