The budget deficits also bring bitter savings in the social area, it will be the worst meeting: people in poverty and with disabilities. The responsible minister Korinna Schumann (Spö) blames the previous government. These financed projects and special benefits that are not affordable in the long term …
According to Schumann, she took over “a decent backpacker” from the previous government. For projects such as personal help for people with disabilities, for example, started -up financing was provided, but it was not a matter of sustainable financing. According to Schumann, the same applies to many special benefits in the field of poverty alleviation, which have now expired.
50 percent less money for people with disabilities
The budget for people with disabilities is reduced by 50 percent, from 242.3 million in 2024 to only 117.8 million in this year. The reason for this is that excessive donations to the Compensation Stax Fund (ATF) and the Support Fund for people with disabilities that the federal government has reached in recent years.
Even in 2026, the value of 2024 will not be achieved, due to a special point of the compensation Stax Fund in the amount of 65 million, the budget will increase at least 185.8 million. The minus is even stronger in combating poverty, from 269.7 to 130 million, with a part due to budget traitation.
Schumann tries to close budget holes
The minister justifies the gap in the Compensation Stax Fund with the fact that the “Insolvency Golf” of large companies that had previously been paid in the funds have disappeared. Moreover, many companies would save themselves compensatory payments by hiring people with disabilities somewhat. You could take measures to “switch off”, says Schumann, but many of the group of employees involved are against engaging this screw. The minister wants to promote the work of people with disabilities in public service.
However, she had succeeded in stabilizing the budget for the compensation Stax Fund by a special dot in 2026. Moreover, she hopes to be able to compensate for savings in supporting poverty or poverty households with the new “Fund for fighting poverty and social innovation”. The funds for this must mainly come from non -profit foundations and individuals. In any case, there will be no fresh money from the Ministry of the Ministry for the Promotion of Food Transfer, and special projects for third countries of 15 million euros will also be removed.
The living room continues, but with fewer funds
The home skills will continue, but there will be less money in the budget (75 instead of 77 million). This is an essential protective shield for all people who are threatened by delogings. Schumann also emphasizes that the government is planned to secure children with a child and maintenance guarantee fund with 35 million. The latter must be supported by single parents as maintenance payments for the children do not do this. The design of the fund has not yet been completed.
Not to feel the appeal to countries, 13th and 14th pension
On the other hand, there must be no savings in the healthcare sector. The healthcare allowance is valorized and the nursing fund is greater. In addition, the subsidies to the hospice and palliative funds will be adapted to inflation from 2025. In 2026 there should also be no savings measures in this area. According to Schumann, reserves will be used. “I am very happy that, despite the enormous saving pressure, we have succeeded in valorizing the care allowance,” Schumann told the “Kroon”.
The minister appeals to the countries to retain the 13th and 14th monthly pension of nursing home residents. You understand that the countries tried to open financial sources because of the difficult budgetary situation. However, she thinks that a higher deductible in nursing homes “not so good”, especially since a large part of the pension must already be submitted.
Almost six billion for the social area
In general, the government presented by the government sees the annual spending of around six billion euros for the Social Affairs and Consumer Protection. About five billion is invested in care.
