Decision is pending – all signs to limit social media

Date:

According to the requirements of the Greens and the Spö, it can be very fast after an age limit for the use of social networks. A corresponding decision on the Council of Ministers could already be taken on Wednesday.

“In the analog world we have established clear rules to protect young people- for example with an age limit for the consumption of alcohol and tobacco. As we think, as we think young people are not on the road at night, we should not expose them to the dangers of the internet,” Barbara Neßler said to the “Green,” to the Green, to the Green.

Spö in the “Online Offensive”
About two months later there is movement in Graz after the tragic dead. Spö State Secretary Jörg Leichtfried also openly spoke in the “Kroon” for a “fast legal limitation”. Support from Styria came quickly. “The social media are not toys, but a danger to our free society – we have to stop radicalization,” said the former Red Federal Party Manager and now Styrian State Party Leader Max Lercher.

In fact, there can be movement in the project. As the “krone” of the government circles has learned, a decision of the Ministerial Council can lead to an age restriction on Wednesday. It still seems open whether the limit should be 14, 15 or 16 years old.

“It is gratifying that the government parties are now also evaluating our demand for an age limit for social media. We hope that movement is now moving. Because we know: social media are not a harmless place – but a space in which young people are radicalized, bullied and in which opinions and body photos are massively influenced,” Neßler explains Light and Co.

According to De Groenen, it is also important to strengthen media education in boys who are parallel to the possible limitation.
