On Monday, Iran and Israel continued the mutual air strikes and threatened to expand the attacks. The army of Israel reported attacks at locations of missiles and various command centers of the revolutionary guards in Tehran. The Iranian army met the cities Tel Aviv, Haifa and Petach Tikwa with rockets.
Since Friday, at least 27 people have been killed in Israel and almost 600 more were injured. In Iran, at least 224 people were killed by attacks and more than a thousand more injured. Since the start of the war, residents have left Tehran in large numbers. Cars are blocked, there are sometimes kilometers of snakes at the gas stations. In the meantime, there is hardly any gasoline or security. Many Iranians only took the bald supplies and fled to the east or north of the country.
In Israel, the population has been receiving preliminary warnings from rocket and drone attacks since Friday. There has been a sad daily life for decades. Now people have to endure in the hiding places much more often and longer than they knew about earlier conflicts. The Israeli army has been at war for the first time in decades with a state with a large army.
Erdogan called Putin
Some heads of state have already brought themselves into play as an intermediary, including US President Donald Trump, Russian ruler Wladimir Putin and his Turkish colleague Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “Turkey is ready to play a mediating role for an immediate end of the conflict and to return to nuclear negotiations,” said Erdogan, according to his office. The violence of the entire region puts the violence in danger of the Israeli government under Netanyahu a clear threat to the international system.
Erdogan has already made a phone call with the Iranian president Massoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump was open to the fact that Putin conveyed during the war. That’s why he called him, he said on Sunday. “I would be open to it. We had a long conversation about it. We spoke more about it than about his situation (war in Ukraine, note).” The United States are currently not involved in conflicts, but that can still change.
The EU outside country representative Kaja Kallas convened a video conference from Minister of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday to advise himself on the situation in the Middle East.
