Rodrigo GarciaDeputy Minister of Security of the Basque Government, at the inauguration of a exhibition on the kidnapping and murder of Miguel Ángel BlancoThat the Ertzaintza will never stop even “attribute the authorship of each of the ETA attacks and bring those responsible to justice”.
Gartzia, together with the director of the Ertzaintza, Joshua Bujandaopened at the Izarra Center in Ermua (Bizkaia), where Blanco was a councilor for the PP, the exhibition Honor, Memory, Bizikidetza about the last 48 hours of his life, when he was kidnapped by ETA, and the police journey and her social reflection.
It is an immersive and “multisensory” exhibition with audiovisual, poetic elements, quotes and objects such as a replica of the twelve volumes of the police report on the investigation, which today “is still open, it is still not fully clarified”, according to the report. explained to Gartzia.
In this sense, the Ertzaintza has as a “priority” objective the periodic and permanent review of the ETA attacks without clarificationand Gartzia gave the example of the investigation “which allowed us 21 years later to scientifically prove that Mikel Kabikoitz Carrera Sarobe was one of the perpetrators of the murder of two Ertzaintza agents who controlled traffic in Beasain”.
The exhibition not only recalls the murder of Blanco and the historical effect it had on Basque society, but also pays tribute to the Ertzainas murdered by ETA, through a corner called Hemen Gaude, where 15 red txapelas are displayed. Gartzia took the opportunity to acknowledge the work of the police. “You have always been at the forefront of the fight against ETA, anonymously and tacitly risking your integrity to defend and protect us,” he said.
