Russian President Vladimir Putin explicitly emphasized his right to dominance in Ukraine as rarely earlier. Russians and Ukrainians are a single people, said the dictator at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum: “And in this sense the entire Ukraine is ours.”
At the same time, Putin again played the independence of the Ukrainian people in St. Petersburg on Friday. Putin also wants to further expand the arms industry as a mainstay of the economy.
Russia knew Ukraine a right to sovereignty. However, the Kremlin boss limited that Ukraine stated its independence as a “neutral state” in 1991. “Where a Russian soldier sets his foot, that’s ours,” Putin added. Russia has conquered part of the Ukraine militarily and declared part of the Ukrainian peninsula Criman under the break of international law.
Civil developments for armor in Focus
In the further development of the arms industry, the experience of weapons in combat use must also be taken into account, demanded the Chief of Kremlin. Russia has to do with a distribution between civil and pure armal companies, Putin also said. “We have to analyze constant technological and organizational innovations in the civil area and quickly introduce them in the atmosphere of defense and safety,” he said during a plenary session of the forum.
Together with friendly countries, Russia will also develop armament projects, produce weapons together and train the accompanying team, Putin announced.
Moscow remains aggressor
For the first time, Putin threatened the possible intake of the Ukrainian capital Sumy. “We don’t have the goal of taking Sumy, but in principle I don’t exclude it,” said Putin during the plenary session of the Economic Forum when he was asked by a journalist. The Russian troops have taken more and more cities in the area of the same name in the northeast. Putin also explained that the armed forces built a buffer zone there. Until now she has gone ten to twelve kilometers deep into the country. It is possible to take the Capital Sumy area. The front line runs only about 18 kilometers from the city borders.
Until now, Russia has annexed the Ukrainian areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Saporischschja and Cherson’s war in the more than three years. Moscow had recently threatened to follow further regions if Kiev disagreed with the Russian maximum demands for the termination of the war.
Putin is more positive than his Minister of Economy
In general, the Kremlin boss attracted a positive conclusion of economic development in his speech. In the past two years, the gross domestic product has in any case grown more than four percent and Putin did not only emphasize because of the production of armament. Inflation has recently fallen – to 9.6 percent.
Given the recent warnings, for example by Minister of Economy Maxim Rchetnikow, Putin demanded: “Stagnation or even recession should not be approved.”
Moscow’s leadership uses the conference with 20,000 guests from 140 countries to present themselves to the world in good light and to defy international insulation aimed at the West.
