The Congress plenary this Thursday approved the Democratic Memory Accountwith the support of PSOE, United We Can, PNV, EH Bildu, PDeCAT, Más País and Compromís, against the ‘no’ of the PP, Vox, Ciudadanos, Junts and the CUP.
The Republican Left and the BNG have opted to abstain because while they see progress, they seem insufficient.
The rule is now being discussed further in the Senate with a view to final approval around the turn of summer.
Congress also validated the second decree on anti-crisis measureswhich extends the rules adopted in March and includes new ones, such as the €200 check for low-income and wealthy families.
The decision was passed with 186 votes in favour, including those of PSOE, United We Can, PNV, EH Bildu and PDeCat; 51 against; and with 108 abstentions, mainly those of the PP.
Likewise, its treatment as a bill has been approved by a large majority through the urgency procedure.
In addition, Congress has given the green light to the express reform proposed by the socialists to allow the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) appoints two magistrates to the Constitutional Court.
And that can be done before September 13, because the Socialists have succeeded in passing an amendment so that these appointments take place within that period.
The initiative gained the support of its investiture partners and passed in plenary with 187 votes in favour, 152 against and 7 abstentions, before the three amendments to all Citizens, Vox and PP were rejected.
