Does Trump want to remain unpredictable?
But it can also be a political tactic, as the magazine “Spiegel” speculates. Trump can also work on his reputation as an unpredictable player. This “Madman theory” once worked well with his predecessor Richard Nixon.
It is also quite possible that there is no special strategy behind the change of course. Depending on what Trump is simply broken down from his consultants and currently likes, the theory is trumpeted.
