The reform must be kept longer in working life. The partial administration can be started as soon as you are entitled to an age pension. The work must be reduced by at least 25 and a maximum of 75 percent, with the employer’s permission.

Expensive partial retirement is limited
At the same time, partial pension is limited. It can only be used as long as there is no pension claim. That is a maximum of three years instead of five as before. In addition, the wage compensation of the state is temporarily reduced from 90 to 80 percent due to the restrictions in 2026 to 2028.
The partial council is an opportunity for people to become more flexible from work in the retirement, explains Minister of Social Affairs Korinna Schumann (Spö). “The state pensions remain safe,” she said. So that you will stay in the future, the sustainability mechanism is installed. If a specified budget path is exceeded by 2030, the government will be obliged to take measures – there is a difficult access to the gang pension, premium is increasing, an increase in the inaugural age or lower adjustments.
Schumann, however, assumes that the budget path follows and that the mechanism will therefore not be defeated at all. To introduce the actual retirement age to the legal, but also the support of companies that hire or keep older employees in employment, Schumann again appealed.
Criticism of the partial administration comes from the FPö. MP Peter Wurm saw the deterioration of the affected both in the subpension and in the limitations on partial pension. He also criticized the sustainability mechanism. According to him, it will go in the direction that the retirement age will be increased. That could have been prevented, he was convinced and suggested savings in luxury pensions and immigration.
