Help in the middle -East -Meinl -Reisinger: “Window of Hope” in Gaza

Date:

The National Council calls for unhindered access for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip. Foreign Minister Beate Meinl Reisinger (Neos) sees “a small window of hope” for peace in the Middle East.

With this statement she referred to the “asking time” that access to auxiliary transplants must be improved and, above all, protected and that Hamas wants to release ten hostages. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also made it clear that, according to her, Gaza should remain Palestinian, but Hamas should not play a role there.

The National Council demanded that access to emergency services in the Gaza Strip should be safe and unhindered. Decisions of the National Council are recommendations about how the government should act. However, there is no legal obligation that they will be implemented.

An application from the Greens to the government to vote against the EU association agreement with Israel was not supported by another faction.

Israel criticism on red and green
In the debate about the common Gaza application, Spö and green spicy words against Israel had tackled in particular. In the light of planned crimes against humanity, Spö mp Muna Duzdar called on the federal government. Her club colleague Pia Maria Wiinger said that people should not only see if Israel would be moved as Palestinians.

Green Mandate Meri Disoski said in the direction of Israel that human rights were not negotiable. It is time to build up diplomatic pressure, as long as Israel systematically violates international international law.

NEOS MP Henrike Brandstötter justified that the green application for association agreement had not been agreed with the fact that the movement had recently arrived, which influences safer access to auxiliary delivery. ÖVP Mandate Carina Reiter called the location in the Gaza Strip “worrying”. The last agreement with an extension of humanitarian aid is now an important and necessary step. It should not be forgotten that the origin of the escalation was a terrorist attack by Hamas.

One must avoid using double standards, explained FP -Mandate Axel Kassegger. Why don’t you ask for sanctions and not an international court for Israel if you do it for Russia, he asked. Again, the blue MP PCCccccedues about the neutrality of Austria.
