Five explosive deposits hidden in a abandoned plot of the municipality of Accousnear Iparralde, found last month by French authorities, who attribute it to the extinct ETA, according to this Saturday’s local newspaper South West.

The explosives were found by a farmer in a stone wall that served as a border to a remote plot of that municipality of Valle de Aspe, about which he warned the authorities.

A group of craftsmen traveled to the site to take charge of the discovery, some of them 30 pounds per barrel.

According to the mayor of the city, who was present at the time of the intervention, it had “white powder” on it and the words “ammonium nitrate” appeared in Basque.

Cecile Gensac, prosecutor in Pau, confirms that “it is probably an old ETA dump”

The investigation into the find is in the hands of the Paris anti-terror prosecutor’s office.
