Movistar paid tribute to Valverde at the Vuelta with a special jersey

The team Movistar the standard colors of the Vuelta 2022 season will be changed to lucir a white jersey with light blue stripes to say #GraciasBalaas a tribute to Alexander Valverdeits best cyclist in the last two decades.

This is the first time in 12 years with Telefónica as the main sponsor, that Eusebio Unzué’s formation will completely change his jersey for one of the big three.

The jersey seen in the peloton maintains the usual composition but changes its previous dark blue background to white, in a design made by its competition clothing supplier, La Passione, where the signature of the former 2018 world champion will be worn on top of the back design.

The eight team members debuted this Thursday the new jersey design at the team presentation and will be worn by Movistar in this edition of the Vuelta.

Valverde, 42 years old, will participate in his last Vuelta, a race he won in 2009, as the last cyclist to take the gold jersey for the winner who later turned red.
