Porto won the classic against Sporting de Portugal (3-0) at Do Dragão this Saturday, with a victory with goals from Evanilson, Matheus Uribe and Galeno keeping the leaders of the “dragons” with an absolute victory in the first three trips.
The “lions”, already tied at the beginning of the league, have four points left, five less than their rivals this Saturday.
The superiority Porto achieved on the scoreboard was hard to beat, as the Blue and Whites opened the scoring with the only clear-cut chance they had in the first half.
In the 42nd minute, the Brazilian Evanilson made the first of a game that Sporting desperately wanted, as their goalkeeper, the Spaniard Antonio Adán, was on the ground after a crash.
However, the goal went up on the scoreboard, as the Verdiblancos put Diogo Costa to the test, having to make two saves to prevent the visitors’ goal.
In the second half, Porto finished the victory from eleven meters.
First it was a penalty from Colombian Uribe (m.78), after the Spanish Pedro Porro avoided a goal with his hand and saw red; and then another maximum penalty from Galen (m.86), which Adam knocked down inside the area.
Porto is the sole leader with nine points, awaiting Benfica -whose match was postponed until the 30th because they were knocked out in the preliminary round of the ‘Champions’-, Boavista and Vitória de Guimarães, all with six points and one game less.
