The defender of Villarreal, Paul Torrespointed out in a press conference that they will not be out to win this Thursday in Split, where they will play against Hajduk in the second leg of the qualifying round of conference league, it was a mistake, despite the 4-2 lead they had from the first leg.
“Anything other than going out tomorrow to win is making a mistake. The draw is still open and they, along with their people, will want strong feeling and heroes. We go to our homework half done, but it’s time to finish it,” he assured.
Regarding the Croatian team, he pointed out that “it is a team with quality peoplewith the ability to escape pressure easily, with quick players on the wing and making your life difficult”, although he downplayed the pressure local fans might find them.
“We played all preseason away from home and in big stadiums. The other day we won on one of the toughest pitches in LaLiga. (Metropolitan) so we are ready. We are clear about what we have to do and we try to do that in any stadium,” said the international defender.
Villarreal, unbeaten in a preseason game and leading LaLiga after the second day, is going through a big game time which the defender explained when pointing out that “this is the third season that maintains a block and an idea of the game that is about improving every game. In addition, we are all going in the same direction, keeping the base and with new people who came with many wins”, concluded Pau Torres.
