The Monegasque Victor Langellotti (Burgos-BH), knew how to take advantage of being part of the good breakaway of the fifth stage of the 77th Vuelta a España and managed to win the blue dot jersey that identifies the leader of the mountain, despite the fact that he had never assume.
“I’m very happy, I can’t believe it. Two days ago, I wasn’t even scheduled to run La Vuelta. Now I’m on break, I’ve enjoyed the day and it’s fantastic. I’m very happy with this jersey.”remembered Langellotti who replaced at the last moment his teammate Ángel Madrazo who tested positive for the Coronavirus before the start of the race in Utrecht.
“I was in a good breakaway and I saw the opportunity to get some points in the mountain classification. In the first pass I was first, the same in the second, and in the third… I just gave everything to score more points,” He explained about his performance on the stage where he also finished in seventh position.
The Monegasque insisted that the goal set for his team, which is one of the three invited by the organization and is looking for fame every day, especially in trying to get into the breakaways, is again “to get into the breakaway, so I’m very happy to get this lead.”
