Former Portuguese international player Paul Futre He was discharged on Thursday, four days after being admitted to a hospital in Lisbon following a heart attack, and thanked the support he received during his admission.
“Good news folks: I just got out of the hospital! A thousand ‘obrigados’ and a thousand thanks for your support”, He wrote on his personal Twitter profile, where he expressed, in a message in Spanish and Portuguese, his “eternal gratitude” to the health workers who treated him, some “true heroes”.
Futre accompanied the message with a photo in which he appeared to be hugging a huddle with the health workers of the Coronary Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital de Santa Maríawhere he was admitted.
He also published another photo of a handwritten message in which he thanked for the treatment received: “If for me they are the real heroes of Portugal, now because of the love I received they are even more heroes for me.”

The 56-year-old Atletico Madrid legend was hospitalized in Lisbon on Sunday after feeling unwell after his mother’s funeral.
