Frozen supplier Ardo has had to recall its “Fruitberry Mix” because the hepatitis A virus was found in the product’s packaging. This was found by a Hungarian laboratory in a 2.5 kg package. The product is mainly processed in catering establishments and distributed through wholesalers and cash & carry markets.
The tests were conducted after several visitors fell ill after visiting a restaurant in Hungary. The recall concerns 2.5 kg packages with batch number: 58622131 with the best before date (MHD) 05/2024.
Mainly used in gastronomy
As a precautionary measure, 1 kg of packages with batch codes 58622130 and 58622131 – MHD 11/2024 are also being recalled. The product is primarily processed in professional catering establishments and sold through wholesale and cash & carry markets, a company statement said on Thursday.
All customers who received the “Ardo Fruitberry Mix” with the above batch codes have been contacted to stop the sale and destroy the goods.
Ardo considers food safety and quality very important and works closely with the Belgian and Austrian food authorities to this end.
