The Italian referee was suspended for seven and a half years for match-fixing

The AInternational Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) confirmed this Friday that the Italian chair and linesman Lorenzo Chiurazzi he was suspended for seven years and six months after pleading guilty to match-fixing charges.

The arrangements are in matches of a tournament of Perugia (Italy) in 2021. Chiurazzi changed the markers on the scoring device as he saw fit and furthermore did not cooperate with the ITIA investigation.

In addition to the sports suspension, Lorenzo Chiurazzi was fined $50,000.

“The ban will run from the date the charges were made, August 12, 2022, until February 11, 2030. During that time, Chiurazzi will not be able to officiate or attend any tennis event sanctioned or sanctioned by any international tennis governing body body or national association,” ITIA said in the statement.
