The Italian Dennis Foggia (Honda) dominated the opening round of free practice San Marino Moto3 Grand Prixon the “Marco Simoncelli” circuit in Misano Adriatico, where he wanted to “play” as host, despite the efforts of the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna) which is not so.
Sasaki managed to climb into first place on his last lap, beating Foggia, but his record was canceled by Race Direction for exceeding the circuit’s limits on that lap, returning first place to the Italian, who by only 56 thousandths seconds, beat the Asian.
The third place in this inaugural session went to the Spanish Izan Guevara (GasGas), while his teammate and world leader, the Spanish Sergio García Dols started as usual, with some problems with the set-up and the speed shifted him in seventeenth place and forced him to improve quickly, because the weather forecasts suggest that the weather will worsen throughout the weekend and the rain will be constant.
In Guevara’s third position, another Spaniard finished behind him, Carlos Tatay (CFMoto), beating the Brazilian and surprise debutant of the season, Diogo Moreira (KTM), by several thousand.
In the chapter of disasters the most notable are the Spaniards Jaume Masiá (KTM) and the Indonesian Mario Suryo Aji, who fell at the same point of the circuit of the fourth part and in both cases without causing physical damage consideration.
Turkish Deniz Öncü (KTM), one of the fastest riders in the category, finished in tenth position ahead of the trio of Spaniards, Iván Ortolá (KTM), Adrián Fernández (KTM) and Daniel Holgado (KTM), along with Sergio García Dols seventeenth, Xavier Artigas (CFMoto), twenty-second, Jaume Masiá twenty-third, David Muñoz (KTM), twenty-fourth, and Ana Carrasco (KTM) in twenty-ninth position.
