Announcement: McDonald’s invites nominations for the 2022 People’s Football Awards

The 2022 McDonald’s Irish Football Awards have begun soliciting nominations for the main champions.

The annual McDonald’s Irish FA Grassroots Football Awards, which celebrates their 22nd anniversary in Northern Ireland this year, honor the outstanding work and dedication of the football teams and volunteers who take their time and make a lasting impact on young people and communities in Northern Ireland. .

There are seven categories in this year’s awards: Young Volunteer of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Wes Greg Coach of the Year Award, Club of the Year Award, Futsal Award, Football for All Award and People Award.

Nominations for the McDonald’s Irish Football Awards globally open and close on June 30. The regional prize winners will be revealed in August. The Awards Ceremony will take place in September at the National Football League Stadium in Windsor Park.



“For the first time in years, I witnessed the huge impact that fun McDonald’s football and one-sided McDonald’s mini games have had on the lives of young people in Northern Ireland.

At the start of the awards, Northern Ireland legend and McDonald’s football ambassador Pat Jenning paid tribute to the many volunteers who dedicate themselves to popular football in Northern Ireland each year.

He also invited people to vote for their favorite volunteers at this year’s McDonald’s Ireland FA Grassroots Football Awards.

“It would not have happened without our essential football volunteers,” he said. “For the first time in years, I witnessed the huge impact that fun McDonald’s football and one-sided McDonald’s mini games have had on the lives of young people in Northern Ireland.

“I think it is very important to honor the volunteers and I look forward to meeting some of the nominees, finalists and winners at the Awards Gala later this year.
