Official: Emergency reinforcements for Everton

Everton announced on Tuesday the signing of Swiss goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic due to injuries sustained by goalkeepers Jordan Pickford and Andy Lonergan. Jakupovic, 37, joined the Goodison Park club on parole after leaving Leicester this summer.

Jakupovic, international for Switzerland onceplayed five seasons at Leicester, who he joined from Hull in July 2017 and now he signed a short-term contract with Everton. It was an emergency reinforcement in the face of injuries suffered by Pickford and Lonergan.

Pickford, the English team’s goalkeeper, is out until after the international break this September due to a muscle injury, while Lonergan will be inactive for several weeksbecause he is recovering from a knee ailment, always according to Everton himself.

Everton are currently 16th in the Premier table, after adding four points in six days, the same as West Ham, marking relegation. This Sunday, of course, Frank Lampard’s men receive David Moyes’ ‘hammer’ in a clash between two teams struggling to get away from the lower zone.
