Kokkinakis gave Australia a second point and drew level against Germany

the australian Thanasi Kokkinakis beat the german Oscar Otte through 7-6(6) and 6-1 and tied the tie between the Oceanic team and the German team played at Am Rothenbaum in Hamburg and that will decide first and second place in the Group C classification.

The double decide who will finish first and second in the Davis Cup Finals to be played in Malaga in November. Both are guaranteed tickets to the quarterfinals.

Jan Lennard Struff beat Max Purcell 6-1 7-5 to put Germany ahead in the opening singles but Kokkinakis beat Otte after an hour and 45 minutes of play.
