Djokovic, in the semifinals in Tel Aviv at the expense of Pospisil

the serbian Novak Djokovicfirst seeded, agreed this Friday to the semifinals of the ATP 250 indoor and hard court tournament in Tel Aviv (Israel) by defeating the Canadian in two sets Vasek Pospisil.

Djokovic, who in the round of 16 was the executioner of the Spaniards Pablo Andujar, beat Pospisil, who entered the main draw from earlier, 7-6 (5) and 6-3 in one hour and 53 minutes.

The first round is near and neither player is giving up on their serve. The Serbian scored the tiebreaker after taking a 4-0 lead and ended up settling at 7-5.

In the second set, Djokovic was 3-0 at the start, but Pospisil reacted and leveled the match again for 3-3. A ‘break’ by the Serbian in the eighth game ended up giving the match to the current ATP number 7.

It was the sixth victory in six matches between the two players. The Canadian has never been able to win a set against the Serbian, who in this section accumulates 13-0.

In the semifinals, the Serbian, number 7 in the world, will meet this Saturday with the Russian Roman Safiullin, which was withdrawn before Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech 6-4, 6-1. This will be Djokovic’s 175th semi-final.

In the other semifinal, Frenchman Constant Lestienne and Croatian Marin Cilic, second favourites, will face off against American Maxime Cressy and British Liam Broady respectively.
