The FIFA Dispute Chamber has dismissed the lawsuit filed by former French Sevilla soccer player Joris Gnagnon against the Andalusian club, in which he claimed more than 4.6 million euros for his alleged “unfair dismissal”. on September 21, 2021 due to his “lack of fitness”.

Sevilla, who a year ago unilaterally terminated the contract linking him with Gnagnon until June 2023, arguing that his “lack of professionalism” prevented him from the weight required by an elite footballer, reported this Friday in a statement that this FIFA body “proves him right” in his dispute with the French defender.

“According to this decision, Sevilla FC does not have to pay any compensation to the player, who can still appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAD),” said the Seville club, where the French central defender has -claimed more than 4.6 million euros “as compensation for his dismissal due to his lack of physical fitness”.

Gnagnon, 24 years old and an under-21 international with France, is a player just over 1.80 meters tall who went over a hundred kilograms several times during his unsuccessful trip to Sevilla, despite various other special training and nutrition plans prescribed by physical trainers.
