The Colombian businessman is rewarded for his contribution to the economic growth of Latin America
The president of Colombian business and banking conglomerate Grupo Gilinski, Jaime Gilinski, received the Enrique V. Iglesias Award from the king this Friday at the Palacio de La Zarzuela. Promoted by the Alliance for Ibero-America Business Council (Ceapi), this award recognizes its contribution to the economic and social development of Ibero-America and the strengthening of ties between the countries that comprise it.
Gilinski, which employs more than 150,000 people, is one of the business metrics for promoting investment that promotes development and growth across the region, as well as being a social player committed to advancing education. Experts and analysts consider him one of the businessmen who best understood globalization and the multi-Latin market.
For Gilinski, this award represents “recognition of 45 years of work and dedication, creating businesses and opportunities for many people in Colombia, Spain and Latin America.” For the businessman, the organization’s more than “150,000 employees” are “who, through their work and dedication, have given me the opportunity to receive this great honor.” The winner shared his experience as “the third generation of a family who arrived in Colombia a hundred years ago and with a lot of work and dedication laid the foundation that we have continued with my children and grandchildren for the foreseeable future.”
The Colombian businessman was unanimously chosen by the winning jury of this award, which pays tribute to the figure of Enrique V. Iglesias, Honorary President of Ceapi and tireless fighter for the Ibero-American cause during his long career, first as President of the Inter- American Bank Development (IDB) and later as the first Ibero-American Secretary General.
