Dynamic profile for the subsidiary

UCAM B. The second team hopes to consolidate last season’s good feelings

After a hesitant start, the subsidiary of the Universidad Católica de Murcia Club de Fútbol had a sensational year that was finally crowned with the first entry in its history in a play-off for the Second RFEF. They added 2 points from the first 9. Later they beat El Palmar to win in confidence and then got a blow of reality against Deportiva Minera who lost 2-0. The month of October did not end badly for the subsidiary as they defeated Cartagena FC, Imperial and drew against Racing Murcia.

The competition progressed, but the team failed to get off the ground. A blow was needed and after three consecutive defeats in January, a streak for Tercera RFEF history began. On February 6, after a win over Minera, a series started in which the youth team only suffered another defeat on the last day of the competition, with nothing at stake. They added 28 points out of a possible 36, establishing them in the playoff positions. However, it was very difficult for the first team to save the category, which would prevent a hypothetical promotion of the subsidiary. The adventure ended in the semi-final against José Luis Acciari’s Racing Murcia.

After such a successful year, several players have made offers in a higher category or even promoted to the first team, such as Diego Iglesias and Zorro. Alberto Castillo, who already knew the house, has taken over the reins of the team. They are still part of the roster: Rubén de Gea, Andúgar, Nana and Adrián González. Many others have emerged from a mega-successful youth A, such as Carlos Ortigosa, Nacho Martínez, Torres, Pedrosa and Gabriel Jimeno. With a good base of people of the house it was necessary to supplement with young outside talents such as Issa Drammeh (Don Benito), Samu Mayo (FC Cartagena B), Gastón (FC Cartagena B), Ayoub (Ardoi), Guille Lozano (Mer Menor), Ripoll Lorca Deportiva or Cedric (Bullense) among others. Connecting so many new pieces is a difficult task, especially with so many players fresh from the youth stage and so many additions from far away.
