Elche’s interim coach, Alberto Gallego, assured, after the draw against Mallorca (1-1), that he will remain in the match with the ability that his team had a reaction to all the difficulties they suffered in the match.
The Catalan coach focused on the merits of his players and did not want to comment on the referee or the VAR “because many things happened, many mini-matches and in almost all of them we came out at a disadvantage”.
“It was like we were dead, but we recovered. In the end we ended up in their area and felt that we could score”, commented Gallego, who lamented that the dismissal of Lucas Boyé came when his team had a better feeling.
“I think Elche deserves to win. They got two points, but I’m happy with the team. I keep the good feelings”, said the Catalan, who did not want to comment on his future in the short term.
“Tomorrow we have training. If I didn’t feel qualified to be here, I wouldn’t be here”, he commented when asked if he sees himself in a position to continue in the first team to help him achieve safety.
