Real Mallorca coach Javier Aguirre said after the draw against Elche (1-1), that if his team does not create scoring opportunities available to him, he will suffer this season.
The Mexican coach took the draw for granted, as he recalled that if Mallorca dominated and had more and better scoring opportunities “we would have been close to losing”.
Aguirre praised Vedat Muriqi’s performance, recalling that he scored a goal in the opening minutes, missed a penalty, scored another and was sent off. “It was the figure”, joked the Mexican, who added that if VAR had advised the player to be sent off “he was well sent off”.
The coach assured that he is not worried now about the possible punishment of the striker “but to get the players back.” “We are a team of 25 players and no one is essential,” said the coach, who did not want to use the rain and the delay in the start of the match as an excuse.
“These are the things that happen. The weather has no word of honor and I congratulate the people of Elche for the good work they did because the field did not seem to be flooded”, he concluded.
