Watford, who are currently in the Championship (the English Second), fired their coach, Slaven Bilic, who had been in charge for five months, and appointed Chris Wilder as a replacement until the end of the season with the aim of the team from The Vicarage Road are back in the Premier, where they were relegated at the end of the 2021-22 edition.

With the closing of winter window, changing managers is the only option to revive the team for the end of the season”.
Bilic, the former Croatia coach, managed West Ham and West Brom in the Premier League and is the 18th permanent manager since the Pozzo family took over the Vicarage Road club in 2012.
Wilder, 55, helped Sheffield United rise from League One (Third) to the Championship and finally the Premier within 3 years. His last team was Middlesbrough (2021-22).
