Billiards approaches the schoolchildren of Aljucer

CB Murcia launches the first school for fans between the ages of 10 and 16

The Club Billar Murcia, after having had the Príncipe de Asturias Pavilion as its headquarters for 30 years, was forced to leave because of the obstacles and inconveniences placed on it and was forced to find a new location. It wasn’t easy, but in the end the directors of the Aljucer Cultural Casino, chaired by José Martínez Pujante, opened their arms to the billiard players and what used to be the ballroom is now a billiards field.

“We have four regulatory tables, which is the minimum necessary to organize official competitions. We bought two, which are not cheap, as each costs 7,500 euros, and the other two, which were in the Príncipe de Asturias, were given to us by the city council,” explains Paco Fuentes, sports director and vice president of the Club Murcia billiards.

This transfer has also served, “to start up a school of our sport for schoolchildren between the ages of 10 and 16,” Fuentes added. Registration for this activity is completely free and taught by qualified instructors.

Founded in 1991, the Club Billar Murcia is one of the most successful clubs in Spain thanks to the championships it has won in the specialty three cushion. It currently has a team that competes in the National League and two other teams in Regional.
