Graham Potter he insists his positive personal change after taking over as Chelsea manager was the result of a haircut that cost him more than he expected after switching to the same barber as his players.
Potter’s ‘glow’ became a hot topic on social media after he replaced Thomas Tuchel last month, with the 47-year-old former Brighton & Hove Albion manager sporting a shorter, bushier beard .
“Someone told me the other day I had a ‘glow’. I have no idea what that is. I’m getting better like fine wine,” joked Potter ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.
“I had my hair cut by a men’s barber, so that probably made a difference. It cost more than I thought it would cost.” Potter’s more modern take on matches, in a black turtleneck sweater, also drew attention with some social media users comparing him to James Bond, among others.
“I hope the discussions about me are a little more intellectual than about my sweater or my haircut,” Potter added. “But you have to fill the 24-hour news with something… I don’t like to see myself on TV, my hands sweat and I prefer to go to the dentist,” he admitted.
