The British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) saw improvements in his car during the first free practice sessions of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix along with the updates the team introduced to its car.
“I kept the car in one piece, which was good, and I felt the improvements in it”, indicated the seven-time champion in statements collected by the website racefans.net.
The Stevenage driver thanked the team’s factory for continuing to work to bring out these “new parts” and was “very grateful”.
Hamilton acknowledged that the second session of the day was “a bit wasted in terms of performance” by testing the prototypes of the 2023 tyres, although he noted that in the first session he felt “pretty good” with his car
Last year’s runner-up, who was third in the first free practice at the Circuit of the Americas, he said “no way” they are “too far” from Red Bull and Ferrari.
