The organizers of Isle of Man TT was announced that the French sidecar passengers Olivier Lavorel is dead due to his injuries, bringing the death toll from this year’s event to six.
Lavorel was seriously injured in an accident with his compatriot César Chanal on June 4. Chanal died then. Olivier was transferred to a hospital in Liverpool after the crash, before being transferred to another hospital in France in late June.
“All of us at Isle of Man TT racing are deeply saddened to learn today of the passing of Olivier Lavorel…” the organization said in a statement on Tuesday.
British supersport driver Mark Purslowthe Northern Irish veteran David Morgan and the British sidecar pilot father and son Roger and Bradley Stockton were the other casualties of this year’s races on the Isle of Man. The event has been running since 1907 and is one of the most dangerous in motorsport.
