Brimin Misoi was erected this Sunday as the winner of the frankfurt marathon (Southern Germany) in the men’s category with time 2 hours, 6 minutes and 11 seconds, and Selly Kaptich rounded off the Kenyan double by winning the women’s with a new record at the German event (2h24:40).
Behind Misoi, he was followed on the podium by his compatriot Samwel Mailu, with a time of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 19 seconds and the Ethiopian Derese Ulfata, with a mark of 2 hours, 7 minutes and 30 seconds.
In the women’s category, the podium was entirely for Kenyan athletes. Selly Kaptich broke the race record with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 11 seconds.
She was followed by Helah Kiprop, world runner-up in 2015, with a time of 2 hours, 24 minutes and 40 seconds, and Jackline Chepngego, with 2 hours, 25 minutes and 14 seconds.
The Frankfurt marathon was run for the first time in the city on the banks of the Main since the pandemic began.
