American Shirley Spork, one of the founding women of the American Women’s Professional Golf Association (LPGA), He died Tuesday at age 94, the LPGA said in a statement.
Born in Detroit (Michigan, USA) in 1927, Spork was one of thirteen women who founded the LPGA in 1950 and, ten years later, individually created the training department and development of professional golfers.
Regarded in the United States as a pioneer and an important element in the advancement of golf and women’s sports, Spork passed away in Palm Springs (California).
He was a golf coach until the 1990s. and developed innovative methods, underlined the LPGA in a statement published to report his death.
