the Spanish pilot Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) has a fractured right foot that he sustained as a result of a fall in the third round of the X-Trial World Championship held on April 2 in Madrid, as his team reported on Wednesday in a statement.
The tests were conducted last week in Barcelona by the team doctor, Dr. Joaquim Terricabras, decided to be the Galician driver suffering from a non-displaced marginal fracture of the base of the first metatarsal of the right foot.
The team and the driver decided to undergo conservative treatment that allowed them to participate in the fourth round of the X-Trial World Championship held on April 10 in Barcelona.
According to a statement from the Repsol Honda Trial Team, the evolution of the injury will mark Gabriel Marcelli’s return to trainingalthough the rider is expected to take part in the opening round of the Spanish Trial Championship which will take place in the Galician town of Arteixo on April 23 and 24.
After the first four rounds of the X-Trial World Championship, Marcelli occupied the fifth position in the overall classification with second place achieved in the test held in Madrid as the best result to date.
