Last year, the company RM-Sotheby’s one of the has already been auctioned Ferrari F3000 used by Michael Schumacher in 1998 for 6.2 million dollars, a price similar to previous auctions such as in ‘Kaiser’ F2002 ($6.7 million)and of Ferrari F2001 ($7.5 million). But Sotheby’s recent auction of Michael’s 2003 Ferrari F2003-GA was even more special., and therefore, that was mentioned in its final price. The new owner picked up chassis number 299 of the said single-seater for double the price of the previous cars, 14,824,000 euros.
It is normal for its price to increase. The 2003 Ferrari F2003-GA was the single-seater in which the German driver won his sixth title of the 7 he owned. With this racing car Michael surpassed Fangio’s 5 crowns.
Such was the importance of this piece, that the expected value was exceeded. The auction house, Sotheby’s, put the average value between 7.61 million euros and 9.63 million. However, the final price for the lucky man was close to 15 million euros. Of course, it’s not even remotely the most expensive car ever auctioned. That record is held by the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, sold by RM Sotheby’s for a whopping $142 million.
