Yeclano faces a deadly Granada

Date:

The first three goals of the Nasrid team, which made its coaching debut, did not stop the locals, who dreamed of a draw until the very end

Yeclano Deportivo was eliminated in the Copa del Rey after a final with more emotion than expected. The azulgranas did not relinquish the tie until the final whistle against a Granada who knew how to finish the race in a very complicated field and who was the deserved winner of the tie on the debut on Paco López’s Nasrid bench.

It was precisely this circumstance that could have been key to the game, as the new coach allowed the Andalusian team to come out with the necessary intensity for a game against a feisty Yeclano who hoped to surprise. What was seen on the grass was the opposite; the Nasrids adapted perfectly to the small size of the field and tried to look for football directly.

Ivan Martinez; Álvaro González, Gabri Clemente, Diego Ruiz, Víctor, Bauti, Uclés (Pedrosa, 59), Alvarito (Manu Costa, 70), Luispa (Alonso, 59), Pau Pérez (Tonete, 70) and Salinas (Revilla, 70).

Adrián, Silva (Soro, 67), Arezo (Callejón, 59), Puertas, Víctor Meseguer, Miquel, Víctor Díaz, Jorge Molina (Bryan, 67), Perea (Marín, 78), Cabaco, Ricard (Neva, 67).

Yecla’s men came onto the pitch with great intensity, trying to play their usual merry football with a defense of three and two very active full-backs, but they came up against a very solid Granada defensive network that prevented Adrián Hernández’s men from advancing to dangerous positions.

The visitors’ first warning was a shot from Arezo that didn’t find the target. The match was even and highly contested in midfield, with two very competitive teams. In the 20th minute, Granada delivered the first blow of authority: it was a shot from Miquel from outside the penalty area after intercepting a rebound and which Iván could do nothing about.

After the goal, the Barça team did not give up and ambitiously sought the Andalusian gate of debutant Adrián. Alvarito had the clearest option with a shot from the front after a personal move. The locals tried, but it was difficult for them to have depth and they sinned by playing too horizontally.

Granada also failed to reach the Barça door in a very open Copa del Rey tie with two teams giving their best. As the home side’s goal drew closer, Ricard hit the local parish hard. In minute 41 and again with a good shot he scored 0-2 and left La Constitución frozen on the verge of rest.

Excessive punishment after a first half where balance was the predominant note with a Granada who knew how to suffer and take advantage of his attacking skills to gain an advantage that seemed definitive.

After the break, the azulgranas wanted to reminisce about the great afternoons of La Constitución, looked for the starting goal and had a dangerous approach without major consequences at the gate of the Second Division side. Yecla’s men soon ran out of gas and Paco López’s men began to move the ball and control the game.

Thanks to the solidity of the Andalusians, they managed to extend the result thanks to Jorge Molina who made it 0-3 and condemned the game with 25 minutes left against a Yeclano who had no ideas and was outclassed by a superior and deadly team .

Adrián Hernández made three changes and with the addition of Revilla, Tonete and Manu Costa, he tried to break the game and score a goal to reward his fans. The azulgranas brought more rhythm to the game and with 12 minutes left on the clock, Gabri Clemente reduced the gap.

Options were scarce due to being two goals down, but the Barça team and their fans did not lose faith in a draw. The game broke with back and forth play and the Granada coach became desperate when he saw the tenor of the game.

But Yeclano’s second goal came too late. It was in an action of ‘9’ by Revilla, who made it 2-3 within the quality-marked area in extra time, that caused emotion in the last minute of the game.

But there was no time for more in La Constitución and Granada qualified for the second round against a Yeclano who showed his character to the last moment against a team that wants to be promoted to the First Division and in front of a crowd that cheered his team to the end .
