Selenskyj encourages: – “We all feel how our victory is approaching”

Date:

Despite the continued Russian attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has encouraged his compatriots. “We all feel our victory approaching,” Zelenskyj said in his daily video message on Sunday night. At the same time, he recognized the difficult situation in Donetsk. “The strength of the Russian attacks has not diminished,” he said. “We will not allow them to breach our defenses.”

“The fighting in the Donetsk region is as intense as it has been in recent days,” Zelenskyy said in his video address. The day before he had described the situation there as “hell”. The Russian Defense Ministry reported a minor success in Donetsk on Sunday. Russian soldiers had captured the city of Majorsk near the town of Horliwka.

In the recaptured places in the Kherson region, more than 400 Russian war crimes have now come to light, the head of state continues. Bodies of soldiers and civilians were found. Russian soldiers and mercenaries would be arrested.

British Defense Secretary warns
More than eight and a half months after the Russian invasion, the Ukrainian army achieved a great success last week: after successful counter-offensives, the Russians in the southern region of Kherson withdrew from the regional capital of the same name and other places on the right bank of the Dnipro.

On Sunday, Ukrainian media continued to release videos of people cheering as they greeted their troops in Kherson. In view of these cheering scenes, British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace urged caution. “History shows that Russia can be very brutal to its own people,” Wallace said in London on Sunday. “If they need more cannon fodder, they’ll get it,” Wallace said, referring to the recent mobilization in Russia. He also referred to the planned military exercises in Russian schools. “That’s the nature of the regime we’re dealing with.”

“False reports” about ideologues close to the Kremlin
Pro-Kremlin ideologue Alexander Dugin pledged his continued loyalty to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Reports from the West that “Russian patriots and myself have turned away from Putin since Kherson’s capitulation and are reportedly asking for his resignation” are “false reports,” Dugin explained on the Telegram online service Saturday night. “We are loyal to Putin and will support the military operation (in Ukraine) and Russia to the end.”

As recently as Friday, Dugin published a message appearing to be critical of the Kremlin after Russian troops withdrew from Kherson. Dugin wrote that Russia should give up no more places and “the limit has been reached”. Dugin has long advocated an ideology that seeks to unite Russian-speaking areas into a new Russian empire to be rid of “Western deviations.”
