The Argentinian Diego Schwartzmann move forward towards Round of 16 of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 tennis by winning two sets (6-0 and 7-6 (4)) in Hungarian Martin Fucsovics.
Within an hour and 53 minutes, the player from Buenos Aires solved his second commitment in this edition, which had a massive start and eventually contained his opponent’s attempted reaction.
Schwartzman’s second win against the Fucsovics was in Monte Carlo after the gain, also on clay, two years ago at Roland Garros. However, the European prevailed in the 2020 duel at Wimbledon.
The Argentine, a finalist this year in Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires, has completed his sixth participation in Monte Carlo. He will seek the pass to the quarterfinals, his tournament ceiling, in 2017, against the winner in the confrontation between Canadian Felix Auger Aliasimme, sixth seed, and Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
