In recent years, the UAC Easter Rally has attracted more than 20,000 people, including spectators, visitors, officials and competitors: organizers claim to have raised about 800,000 for the local economy.
The mayor said: “It is no secret that I love cars, so I am personally delighted to have the prestigious Irish International Rally Club back in East Central Antrim.
“We are proud to attract and deliver world-class events in our region and this will be another huge success.
“Events like this are great for introducing Mid and East Antrim to audiences around the world via Facebook Live and Youtube, as well as the benefits they bring to the hospitality, tourism and retail sectors.”
“A warm welcome awaits all the competitors, their teams, their families and the spectators, and this is an intense and safe motorsport weekend, so why not come and see it for yourself.”
A spectator guide to the event will be available online at the Circuit of Ireland website (www.circuitofireland.co.uk) and you can follow the action on Facebook and Instagram.
