Haller undergoes tumor surgery again: “The battle is not over yet”

Date:

The front of Borussia Dortmund, Sebastien Hallerhas announced that he will undergo a new operation as part of the treatment he is undergoing for a testicular tumor that has kept the player out of the game.

The 28-year-old Ivory Coast striker underwent surgery earlier this year after discovering the tumor while at a training camp in July, and has been undergoing chemotherapy in recent months.

Haller, who previously played for West Ham United of the English Premier League, returned to training with former team Ajax Amsterdam last month. “As planned from the beginning, different possibilities are considered after chemotherapy. I tell you that the fight is not over for me,” Haller wrote in a post on Twitter on Wednesday.

“I have to undergo surgery to definitively end the tumor that keeps me away from the courts. I want to thank you all for the messages of support and strength you are giving me in this ordeal. I hope to see you all soon time.”

German team Dortmund signed Haller for an initial fee of 31 million euros ($32.18 million) last season after the striker scored 34 goals last season for Dutch champions Ajax, including 21 in the league and 11 in the Champions League. .
