The renewal announced by Liverpool

Date:

Liverpool announced on Thursday the long-term renewal of midfielder Curtis Jones, who has played for the Anfield club since he was 6 years old. The English Under-21 international is the so-called ‘one of ours’ in the ‘red’ version.

At 21 years old, Curtis Jones has played 81 games with Liverpool’s first team, where he made his debut in January 2019. With Liverpool he won the Premier, FA Cup, Carabau Cup and Community Shield.

“First of all, I want to thank the coaching staff for believing in me. I feel very excited. The renewal was a very easy decision to make. This is the club of my childhood. I am from Liverpool. I supported the club for the rest of my life- I can’t wait to see what the future holds,” said Jones.

Curtis Jones became the youngest captain in Liverpool’s history in February 2020 by donning the armband in an FA Cup match against Shrewsbury Town. “Liverpool is the ideal club for me. My dream has always been here.”
