UEFA has opened an investigation into Juventus

Date:

The First Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Committee has today opened a formal investigation into Juventus FC for possible violations of Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

The investigation focuses on alleged financial violations that recently became public as a result of proceedings conducted by the Italian National Commission for Companies and Stock Exchange (CONSOB) and the public prosecutor’s office in Turin.

On August 23, 2022, the First Chamber of the CFCB concluded a liquidation agreement with Juventus FC. This settlement agreement was concluded based on the financial information previously submitted by the club corresponding to the financial years ending 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

In the event that, after the end of this investigation, the financial situation of the club is significantly different from the one assessed by the first financial control body at the time of the conclusion of the resolution agreement, or if new facts appear or become known and are significant, the First Chamber reserves the right to terminate the settlement agreement, take any legal action it deems appropriate and impose disciplinary measures in accordance with the applicable UEFA Financial Committee Rules of Procedure.

The First Chamber will cooperate with national authorities and will not comment further on the matter while the investigation continues.
