Formula 1 announced this Friday the suspension of the 2023 Chinese Grand Prix, which will take place at the Shanghai International Circuit. The reason is the situation of the coronavirus pandemic to the Asian giant.

The organization of the championship and the Chinese authorities were contacted to see the evolution of the pandemic in the country, but due to the growing difficulties it presented, both decided not to hold the race. The Chinese Grand Prix It is scheduled from April 14 to 16 and will be the fourth competition weekend of the season.

So, for now, the calendar for the 2023 season is being reduced from twenty-four to twenty-three races.
